Metaset creation in clustered environment

Posted in Sun Cluster at 12:40 am by alessiodini

On this new cluster i want to create a metaset ( the first ! ) and use it between the cluster nodes.

asuka>scdidadm -L
1 rei:/dev/rdsk/c0t2d0 /dev/did/rdsk/d1
2 rei:/dev/rdsk/c0t0d0 /dev/did/rdsk/d2
3 rei:/dev/rdsk/c2t3d0 /dev/did/rdsk/d3
3 asuka:/dev/rdsk/c2t3d0 /dev/did/rdsk/d3
4 asuka:/dev/rdsk/c0t2d0 /dev/did/rdsk/d4
5 asuka:/dev/rdsk/c0t0d0 /dev/did/rdsk/d5

asuka>metaset -s dini-ds -a -h asuka rei
asuka>metaset

Set name = dini-ds, Set number = 1

Host Owner
asuka
rei

I insert in metaset dini-ds the only DID shared , d3:

asuka>metaset -s dini-ds -a /dev/did/rdsk/d3
asuka>metaset

Set name = dini-ds, Set number = 1

Host Owner
asuka Yes
rei

Driv Dbase

d3 Yes

Great! this metaset is shared between asuka and rei
I can see it from scstat output:

asuka>scstat -D

— Device Group Servers —

Device Group Primary Secondary
———— ——- ———
Device group servers: dini-ds asuka rei

— Device Group Status —

Device Group Status
———— ——
Device group status: dini-ds Online

Now i can create some metadevices on dini-ds and switch it with cluster commands between the nodes!
