CMM: Cluster lost operational quorum; aborting.

Posted in Sun Cluster at 7:27 pm by alessiodini

I had a panic on this node because i scrubed reservation keys ( just for a test ) on a quorum device and then i rebooted another node.
( the cluster is composited by two nodes )

I obtained:

Mar 27 19:59:32 rei cl_runtime: [ID 841616 kern.warning] WARNING: CMM: This node has been preempted from quorum device /dev/did/rdsk/d3s2.
Mar 27 19:59:32 rei cl_runtime: [ID 266834 kern.warning] WARNING: CMM: Our partition has been preempted.
Mar 27 19:59:33 rei unix: [ID 836849 kern.notice]
Mar 27 19:59:33 rei ^Mpanic[cpu0]/thread=30003d99c60:
Mar 27 19:59:34 rei unix: [ID 265925 kern.notice] CMM: Cluster lost operational quorum; aborting.

other messages:

Ok.With this test i verifyed that on a cluster , at least one node must have a reservation key on a quorum device because it must “manage” other keys.
