java installation error: The download file appears to be corrupted

Posted in Solaris at 11:28 am by alessiodini

I’m updating java on a solaris system and when i run the .sh script i obtain the following error:

The download file appears to be corrupted. Please refer
to the Troubleshooting section of the Installation
Instructions on the download page for more information.
Please do not attempt to install this archive file.

This error is caused because i upload the file in ascii mode , not binary!!

Miles de gracias, me sirvió mucho 🙂

  4. One more thing. if you are using some mixed environment like you download files to windows and then move them to Solaris / Linux, there are a lot of chances for these *.sh files to be corrupted. So, please never do this. Download files directly to your Solaris / Linux machines or download some zip format (like gz, zip , etc) and unzip them after uploading to Solaris / Linux .
