Solaris 10 manifest operations

Posted in Solaris at 3:41 pm by alessiodini

On Solaris 10 i want import a manifest.
Follow the steps for do that:

1) Create new xml:
copying another xml from /var/svc/manifest and edit it or creating with web applications on internet

2) Import xml file:

svccfg
svc:> validate /var/svc/manifest/<path>/<service>

svc:> import /var/svc/manifest/<path>/<service>

svc:> quit

3) Enable service newly created:

svcadm enable -t svc:/<application>/<service>

– For export one service to xml:

svccfg export <service> > /tmp/test.xml

– For delete a service:

svccfg delete <service>

– For see how milestone run a specified manifest:
( in this example i use zones as manifest )

svcs -l zones
fmri svc:/system/zones:default
name Zones autoboot and graceful shutdown
enabled true
state online
next_state none
state_time Mon Oct 26 11:57:31 2009
logfile /var/svc/log/system-zones:default.log
restarter svc:/system/svc/restarter:default
dependency require_all/none svc:/milestone/multi-user-server (online)

That’s all!
