How to use quorum server in Sun Cluster 3.2

Posted in Sun Cluster at 3:29 pm by alessiodini

I have 3 systems , ‘nodo1’ – ‘nodo2’ ( 2 nodes of sun cluster 3.2u3 ) and ‘share’.
Share is external system , i will use it as quorum server.

Following the steps for this purpose:
(share)
after package installation , i added this line to file /etc/scqsd/scqsd.conf:

/usr/cluster/lib/sc/scqsd -i QS -p 9000 -d /var/scqsd

where:
-i -> quorum server instance name
-p -> quorum server instance port
-d -> quorum server instance file

After this i restart the manifest:

root@share # svcadm enable quorumserver
root@share # ps -ef | grep sc
root 0 0 0 15:13:01 ? 70:45 sched
root 269 1 0 15:13:27 ? 0:00 /lib/svc/method/iscsi-initiator
root 1909 1908 0 15:47:26 ? 0:00 /usr/cluster/lib/sc/scqsd -i QS -p 9000 -d /var/scqsd
root 1908 1 0 15:47:26 ? 0:00 /usr/cluster/lib/sc/scqsd -i QS -p 9000 -d /var/scqsd
root 170 1 0 15:13:21 ? 0:00 /usr/sbin/nscd
root 1524 1 0 15:13:49 ? 0:06 /usr/sbin/iscsitgtd

On messages i can read:

Oct 24 15:48:30 share QuorumServer[1909]: [ID 621512 daemon.notice] Created Quorum device for cluster s10cluster with id 0x4CC431FC.

On cluster node i run this command:

/usr/cluster/bin/clquorum add -t quorum_server -p qshost=192.168.1.162 -p port=9000 QS

After i see quorum device info:

root@nodo2 # clquorum show -v

Quorum Device Name: QS
Enabled: yes
Votes: 1
Global Name: QS
Type: quorum_server
Hosts (enabled): nodo2, nodo1
Quorum Server Host: 192.168.1.162
Port: 9000
